Vendor-agnostic by design — we integrate the platforms already on your floor, and recommend new ones on their merits, not on margin.
A short reference to the bodies and documents that actually govern automation and control system work in the US and internationally — what each one covers, and where to read the source document.
The leading standard series for cybersecurity of industrial automation and control systems (IACS). Defines the zone-and-conduit network segmentation model and five Security Levels (SL 0–4). Jointly developed by ISA's ISA99 committee and IEC TC65 WG10 — published as ANSI/ISA-62443 in the US and IEC 62443 internationally, with identical technical content where both bodies have adopted it.
ISA: ISA/IEC 62443 series overviewA voluntary, widely adopted framework from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology for managing cybersecurity risk across any organization, including OT/ICS environments. CSF 2.0 (2024) organizes guidance around six functions: Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. Often used alongside IEC 62443 as the enterprise-level risk framework that IEC 62443 implements at the control-system level.
NIST: Cybersecurity FrameworkEnterprise-control system integration standard defining how plant-floor control systems exchange data with MES and ERP layers. The reference architecture most manufacturing data integration and historian/MES projects are built against, regardless of industry vertical.
ISA: ISA-95 standard overviewBatch control standard defining models and terminology for recipe-driven manufacturing — foundational for food, pharmaceutical, and chemical batch processes. Defines the physical, procedural, and recipe model layers most batch PLC/SCADA logic is structured around.
ISA: ISA-88 standard overviewFunctional safety standards for safety instrumented systems (SIS). IEC 61508 is the base standard for electrical/electronic/programmable safety-related systems; IEC 61511 applies it specifically to the process industry sector. Defines Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) used to rate safety-critical control loops.
IEC: Functional safety overviewThe baseline electrical safety code adopted, in whole or in part, by every US state. Governs panel wiring, grounding, conductor sizing, and enclosure requirements for any control panel installed in the United States — the standard every panel build and electrical inspection in our projects is checked against.
NFPA: NFPA 70 (NEC) overviewThe platform-independent, secure data exchange protocol that has become the de facto standard for SCADA-to-historian, SCADA-to-MES, and cross-vendor PLC communication. Maintained by the OPC Foundation and also published as IEC 62541.
OPC Foundation: OPC-UA overviewCertification requirements for equipment installed in Russia and most CIS countries, covering electrical safety, EMC, and explosion protection. A separate certification process from CE or UL — required by law for the region regardless of what other international certifications a component already holds.
No single stable public document portal exists for GOST in English; certification is typically handled through an accredited regional certification body as part of project procurement, not downloaded as a standalone standard. This list covers the standards referenced most often in our engineering deliverables, not the full body of applicable codes for any given project. Standards content, version numbers, and links are reviewed periodically but can change — always confirm against the publisher's current edition before using a standard as the basis for a design or compliance decision.
